The problem
Your algorithm isn’t your preference.
Recommendation systems are tuned for engagement — for what holds attention, not for what you would have chosen. Most of the time those two overlap. When they don’t, there is usually no setting for it.
Ragebait
Content engineered to provoke a reaction performs well — which is exactly why it keeps arriving. Doing nothing is not a neutral choice; it just leaves the decision with the ranking system.
Topics you are tired of
A subject you engaged with once can follow you for weeks after you have lost interest. There is rarely a setting for “enough of this now”.
Creators you would rather not see
“Not interested” is a hint that a recommender may or may not act on. A rule you write yourself is a decision that holds.
Features
A feed that answers to you
Six things SiftVeil does, described the way they actually work.
Filter what you don’t want
Choose from categories such as politics, gambling, adult content, violence, ragebait, clickbait, celebrity gossip and spoilers — or add your own topics and specific creators.
Choose what happens
Each rule gets its own action. Allow it through, warn before you see it, blur it, collapse it to a single line, or remove it from the feed entirely.
Works across your feeds
SiftVeil targets YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X. Coverage varies by site, and you can turn filtering on or off per site.
Privacy-first by design
Core filtering runs in your browser. SiftVeil does not send social-media feed content to SiftVeil servers to decide what to filter.
Content Credentials
BetaInspect supported media locally for Content Credentials — signed provenance data that can record where a media item came from and how it was edited.
Smart Rules
ProBuild more precise personal filtering rules for the cases a single category cannot express, and keep them in sync across your signed-in browsers.
How it works
Three steps, then it stays out of the way
SiftVeil works quietly in the background and lets you stay in control.
- 1
Install SiftVeil
Add the extension to your browser. No account is needed to start filtering.
- 2
Choose what you want to filter
Pick categories, add your own topics or creators, and set an action for each rule.
- 3
Browse normally
Your rules apply as feeds load. SiftVeil works quietly in the background and lets you stay in control.
Content Credentials
BetaProof when proof exists.
SiftVeil can inspect supported media for Content Credentials — an industry standard designed to carry information about a media item’s origin and editing history. Where those credentials are present and valid, SiftVeil can read them on your device and apply the rules you chose.
Where they are not, SiftVeil says so — and nothing more.

Missing Content Credentials do not mean content is human-made.
Social platforms may remove provenance metadata when media is uploaded or transformed, and most media never carried credentials to begin with. SiftVeil reports what it can verify and stays quiet about what it cannot.
Privacy
Your browsing shouldn’t become our dataset.
SiftVeil needs an account and servers to run subscriptions and sync. It does not need a copy of your feed, and it does not take one.
Local filtering
Feed filtering happens in your browser. SiftVeil does not transmit social-media feed content to SiftVeil servers for classification.
Local provenance stats
Provenance Beta counters stay on your device as local numeric aggregates — how many items were checked, not which items they were.
Account data
Only what is needed to operate your account and Pro entitlements: an email address, authentication identifiers, subscription status and — for Pro — the preferences you choose to sync.
Billing handled by Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. SiftVeil does not need, receive or store your full card number.
